Crafty things...

Hi there!

I like to think I'm a pretty creative person, but Pinterest!! It puts me to shame!! Lol. There is a whole wealth of ideas and tips on there. I should state that Pinterest comes with a serious health warning, If you value your sleep and free time, DO NOT SIGN UP!! You have been warned...

This is Lea. Say hello :p
I started using Pinterest as a way to gather ideas for my book. I found it useful as a tool, to help me picture characters and locations as I was writing. It soon became more than that though.

I am currently on a quest to finally sort out and organise my bedroom. *gasp!* It's been needing a serious going over for years, but I have never done it. I'm not that driven, and far more lazy than your average girl, so it has been getting worse and worse over the years. It had gotten so bad that the only floor space I had left was a foot wide path from the door to my bed! *hangs head in shame* I am happy to report that isn't the case anymore! :D My room is nowhere near finished, but there is considerably less crap in it now! lol. I have it all planned, and I've started to buy furniture for it too. This is where Pinterest has come into play.
I can just imagine this white!

There are so many ideas on there. I have spent HOURS looking at bedroom related pins. Annie Sloan paint, up-cycling and wonderful storage ideas that I can't believe I hadn't thought of before. I have bought a few pieces of furniture too. A dressing table, mirror and stool from my local charity shop, that I'm going to paint white. Also a gorgeous Edwardian style chest of drawers from eBay, that will also be seeing a paintbrush.

I have also found a lovely index card catalogue on eBay too. It's a small four drawer one that I'm planning to add legs too and use as my bedside table. I don't know if I will be painting that one though. Its nearly 100 years old and has a lovely patina on it. It feels kind of wrong to paint it. I think I'll clean up the brass a bit and then just wax it. I like all the knocks and scratches it has, I'd hate to cover them up. What do you think?

How gorgeous is this?!
Anyways, I'm sure I'll drive you guys mad with all the photo's and nattering about paint and colours and stuff I'll be doing over the next few weeks! I'm just so excited to really get started with this project. I miss doing things with my hands. Don't get me wrong, I love writing, but there is something special about crafting! :D

See you next post,
